ABOUT LAURA

Laura is a bold, intuitive and seasoned coach. Accredited through The CoActive Coach Training Institute, she is one of the first certified coaches in Canada.  As the founding principal of True North Coaching in the late nineties, she has brought her experience, skill and creativity gained through fifteen years as an educator to build a thriving coaching business. True North Coaching attracts a wide variety of clients locally and internationally having served over 500 people from 5 continents.

Laura has partnered with people in both their business environments and their personal lives to establish what they want, strategize how to get it and then get into action. Her clients consistently say that her coaching brings clarity to their lives, a desire to elevate their leadership and the incentive to improve their most important relationships, both at home and at work. Laura has completed advanced training in Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching, has a positive attitude and a no-nonsense style that is refreshing and effective.

Like most of us, Laura’s most profound learning has been taught by life itself. Her highly personal experiences of cancer survivorship as a teenager, infertility, pregnancy loss and other life challenges informs much of her coaching today.

Coaching’s foundational tenant of curiosity over judgement has been the underpinning of all Laura’s work; full acceptance of what is, creates space to explore what could be. There is nothing to fix....only places to grow. Laura believes that the quality of our lives depends wholly on the quality of questions we ask ourselves.

Laura’s, soon to be published, book The Playful Coach, explores that playfulness is as key to an abundant life as much as setting goals, working hard and facing challenges.

Laura grew up and still lives in the Pacific Northwest in Canada.  You can often find her walking the beach when the tide is out with her Border Collie, a chai tea latte, immersed in good conversation.

we see them as we are.”
